THE STIFFS 2005-2006

Phil Hendriks and a revised Stiffs line-up appeared on stage in Morecambe`s
Festival Market Arena at this year`s 'Wasted' festival. Other acts appearing that day
included The Carpettes, Chelsea, Rezillos, Goldblade, T.V.Smith, Avengers, Strapps.

A version of the Mott the Hoople song "Momma`s little jewel" recorded by The Stiffs' Phil Hendriks and Mott the Hoople`s bassist Overend Watts was included on the Mott The Hoople "Family Anthology" double CD set, released by ANGEL AIR Records on 11th July 2005.

Also in July, a version of The STIFFS "Goodbye my love" was featured on the Netherlands` DISKY 3xCD compilation album "Punk Xplosion".

There was yet another compilation album appearance when the 1999 'Live' version of The STIFFS "Volume Control" was featured on
the Sanctuary Records 3xCD compilation album "If the kids are united", released 3rd Sept 2005.

Phil Hendriks collaborated with various luminaries from the Punk world, in recording a version of Blondie`s 'Just Go Away' for the 'Various Artists' release
by German label 'Trash' Records, entitled 'Our small tribute to Blondie' released 17th October 2005.

'Just go away' also features Mick Rossi from Slaughter & The Dogs, Ian McCallum of Stiff Little Fingers and Dave Philp of the Automatics .
The track was mixed in L.A. by producer Jim Wirt, (much respected for his work with Incubus and Hoobastank)
and appeared under the frankly ridiculous nom-de-plume of 'The Stiff-O-Matic Fingerdogs'.

Strang - in a still from the forthcoming DVD

2006

5th April. 2006 - DORK RECORDS returns after 21 years!
Dork Records has been relaunched in 2006 with the June release of the brand new Automatics album 'Britannia'.
The album was recorded in L.A. with producer Jim Wirt and boasts a list of guest musicians which include Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Ian McCallum (SLF), Mick Rossi (Slaughter & the Dogs), Michael Des Barres (Silverhead, Power Station & Detective) and even the odd member of The Stiffs shouting some yob vocals in there. Also guesting on the title track are the massed ranks of Lancashire`s own Haslingden and Helmshore Brass Band (an act rarely seen on the same album as a Sex Pistol !) turning in a sterling performance.
A 4-track promo-only E.P. (sleeve pictured below) preceded the album`s release in May 2006.
