STRANG and MARK COLERIDGE
worked together again in 1989 in a short-lived band
by the name of GIANT , with
bassist/vocalist Phil Free and a keyboard player who
we know only as The Professor.
They lingered long enough to make one charity
record which is virtually impossible
to find and which features drummer Coleridge in an
uncharacteristic role as lead
vocalist on one of his own compositions on the flipside.
TIP TOP was the brainchild of
STIFFS school pal NIGEL PROCTOR (A.K.A. The "GINGER PRINCE").
This spin-off from the BBC Radio
One show "TIP TOP RADIO" features a
rare appearance by STRANG on
....wait for this .....DRUMS !!!
STRANG was the drummer in the
spoof covers band "BLINDER", who
had a regular spot on the weekly
show playing intentionally 'Ham-fisted' versions of
the latest chart hits. One of
their performances , a cover of Babylon Zoo`s "Spaceman"
(Complete with a singer almost
overdosing from Helium inhalation !) , was included
on this EP. A 'pilot' TV show
was aired but the show was never networked.
